The main purpose of the Sizanani sewing project is:
1) To teach people a sewing skill that will equip them to start their own business from home, sewing for their own family and their neighbors in the community, thus earning themselves a living that will provide for their family's needs;
2) To learn a sewing skill that will enable some students to be employed in small home-based sewing businesses where they can be employed to make curtains and linens, ballet costumes, promotional gifts, etc.;
3) To enable the few students who excel in this skill to start their own training center or design studio;
4) To enable a few students who have the relevant educational qualifications, to further their skills at other educational facilities that offer courses in design or advanced sewing skills;
5) To teach basic business skills to enable students to know how to assign a cost to a product to cover their fabric costs, transport costs, overhead, and make a small profit for themselves.
