Description
Grants and special efforts related to the drug and drug-violence initiative.
This project provides additional support for special initiatives of the Special Program on Substance Abuse and Related Violence. Funds will be used for grants, training and other program efforts as they relate to substance abuse and related violence.
The major goals are:
(1) To provide supplementary grants to substance abuse and related violence projects of education/prevention; advocacy; community organizing, and intervention/treatment.
(2) To provide supplementary funds to implement domestic and global efforts for 2005-2008.
(3) To expand opportunities for awarding of grants to congregations, individuals, and partnering organizations that seek to strengthen the United Methodist Church's response to the drug crisis.
