Vision of El Porvenir: A Nicaragua in which the people in the rural area enjoy a better quality of life. Mission: El Porvenir betters the condition of life through sustainable development in clean water, sanitation, reforestation, and health education in rural communities in Nicaragua. Purpose of this Project: 1) To improve community health through access to clean drinking water and sanitary facilities with concomitant community health education. 2) To ensure the sustainability of infrastructure the communities have built through education. 3) To extend the reach of the community health educational program with a new "Train the Trainer" approach and a community based radio program. 4) To conserve the micro-watersheds on which the water projects depend through our community reforestation program. 5) To improve the health of women and children by reducing smoke in the kitchen through the construction of fuel efficient stoves with chimneys.
