Aviation Assistance Program

Providing practical assistance to the United Methodist aviation programs in Congo and Nigeria

This Advance Project enables the Aviation Resource Department to provide extra support for the work of the African aviation programs. All of the present aviation personnel are African national missionaries. These dedicated national pilots and mechanics are the fruit of the labors of their local United Methodist Churches and the commitment of GBGM. Each of these pilots has been served in some way during their maturing years by the aviation programs, so they know first hand what a difference the plane can make in the lives of individuals and communities. Now they're giving back to the church their skills and services, but lack in many ways the rich technical background, the resources and the financial support that North American and European missionary pilots traditionally brought to the work. The Aviation Resorce Department fills that void by providing technical information and services, resorces for work teams, education and safety events, and assistance with program needs.
